East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) Pier 2 Pier challenge
Last weekend Kerry, Charlie and Matt from the Lighthouse team, plus friends completed the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) Pier 2 Pier challenge. They walked 16 miles between Lowestoft Pier and Southwold Pier.
EACH are close to Lighthouse’s heart, one of our team members Kerry has received support from EACH, read Finley’s story.
The walk started in very foggy conditions, and it was quite eerie walking with 140 people who looked like vague shadows on the sands – spooky! The weather cleared later, and it was a beautiful day. Lovely countryside, excellent organisation from EACH, good company and kindness from other walkers – one lady gave Charlie a brand new pair of socks when she had put her toe through her own! They all suffered from blisters at various points, and quite a lot of discomfort for the last 6 miles. However, the prosecco at the end made everything worth it!
Plus the weekend before Charlie ran the Thorpeness Heritage Coast 10k – with sponsorship money going to EACH as well.
The hard work definitely paid off for the team as they raised £1500! A massive congratulations and well done to all involved.
